Iranians gather every year on October 29th to celebrate the unofficial holiday of “Cyrus Day.” I was at his tomb last year just hours before the large gathering emerged and evolved into a protest. As a result, the authorities were fearing what might unfold there this year. According to the powers that be, they foiled an online plan yesterday to organize an “illegal gathering” at the site. All roads to leading to Pasargad were closed.
