On my way to work today, some of my young Syrian refugee friends stopped me on the street, and asked if we could take photos. Since I had a few minutes to spare, we set down their shoe-shining kits in an alley, and got to work. Whenever the kids think about how they want to compose a photograph, they begin to pay more attention to their surroundings and the environment.
