Earlier this week, Egypt, Ethiopia, and Sudan reached a
preliminary deal to help soothe rising tensions over Ethiopia’s $5 billion Grand Renaissance Dam project. It’s no coincidence that this new compromise was struck in the same week that Egypt and Sudan were helping Saudi Arabia launch military strikes in Yemen. Now more than ever, these three countries on the Nile are acknowledging their overlapping counterterrorism strategies and security concerns…
